Seattle band Left Hand Smoke has performed with Pearl Jam, Heart, and John Mayall, among others

You’ve heard their music on hit TV shows like ER and Gray’s Anatomy, but until you’ve seen them live, you can’t fathom the raw rock and roll depths of this sensational Seattle band. A blend of neo-soul and rock that is steeped in tradition, yet entirely original and fresh, Left Hand Smoke has garnered comparisons to everyone from Little Feat and Dave Matthews to John Mayall’s Blues Breakers. They have performed with the likes of Pearl Jam, Heart, The Spin Doctors, the aforementioned John Mayall, The Presidents of the United States, Maroon 5, Lee Oskar of War, Counting Crows, Robin Trower, Nick Lowe and The Who!

Their debut album won album of the year in West Coast Performer Magazine, Top 10 in the Amazon.com rock charts, and the single Step Outside was featured on KMTT 103.7’s Live Compilation On the Mountain 6.

The band continues to absorb and explore new music. In addition to the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Van Morrison, the band updated the sound with an invigorating slice of James Brown and Motown soul. LHS was voted Seattle’s Best Pop/Rock Band by readers of the Seattle Weekly.

In 2010, Left Hand Smoke finally brought all of this experience together and put out a fresh record, working with Producer/Engineer Ian Sheridan (Bassist and Musical Director for Jason Mraz), pushing themselves to explore new musical territory. The resulting album, Shine On Everything, combines catchy hooks and soulful melodies with the straight-head rock and roll for which LHS has become known. This is indeed soulful rock & roll in the Grand Tradition! Don’t come expecting to sit this one out!
